Well, the WV REC booted controversial chairman Doug McKinney with a resounding kick.  By a total of 74 – 45, Stuart handed McKinney his hat and showed him the door. (more…)

Rules for Radicals

Posted in General by muzeuterpe on January 26, 2009

Because President Obama has thrown this red herring to the masses, I thought I’d offer this little list.  Hmmmm look a little familiar?

RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.

RULE 2: “Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.

RULE 3: “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.

RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

RULE 6: “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.

RULE 7: “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news.

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.

RULE 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.

RULE 10: “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.

RULE 11: “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem.

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

Target — > Concealed Carry Permitees

If you hold a concealed handgun license in West Virginia watch out!  Attorney General Darrell V. McGraw Jr. is looking for you!

Or is he?

I received this letter in the mail last week.

County records reveal you to be a West Virginia concealed handgun licensee.

It was accompanied by this booklet:

Strangely timed \'gift\' from the AG.

Why is this so suspicious?  Well, I have 5 registered voters at my address.  Two of us hold concealed weapons permits.  Only one of those two is a historical voter.  Guess which one.

Our AG is notorious for handing out trinkets with his name and/or likeness on it.

“Whanger’s suit claimed that Hughes and McGraw made her a scapegoat in a controversy over $142,000 worth of promotional items, or “trinkets,” for distribution at the state fair.”

This tactic has helped to keep him in office for a blue-million years.  In true WV neopotistic style, his brother was on the WV Supreme Court until just two years ago, losing in the upset of the decade.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck even a “uneducated” West Virginian knows, its a freaking DUCK!

I believe that McGraw is using his tried and true skills at flattering the masses with ‘freebies’ from his office to buy re-election.  That’s illegal in West Virginia, but he seems to be T-Fal coated.  Our impotent Ethics Committee could scold him, but it is powerless to get him out of there.  The people SHOULD have the sense that god gave geese to understand what is happening, but they have been beaten over the head with the ‘entitlement mentality’ for so many decades they think they DESERVE some “free” junk from state government.

He sues in the name of the people of West Virginia then distributes the settlement monies however he feels he needs to.  This behavior has caused our state Department of Health and Human Resources/Services to lose critical federal dollars.

The AG’s office received a $10 million settlement from a recent lawsuit on behalf the state Department of Health & Human Resources, the Public Employees Insurance Agency and the state Workers’ Compensation Commission.

However, none of these dollars from this settlement is being provided to these agencies. McGraw’s office has been handing out grants from these settlement dollars to various entities, including $500,000 to the University of Charleston and $200,000 to WVU’s Research Corporation. [Read more here.]

According to this article I’m late in receiving my pamphlet.  Wonder why?  Could it be that I’m from a different political party and he had to wait until after his party’s convention?  Now that the general election is in full swing I’m in play.  According to his assistant, little Frannie Hughes:

She (Hughes) also said Tuesday that she didn’t how many of the gun law pamphlets were mailed out to concealed weapon permit holders. She said the pamphlets also have been made available at gun retailers throughout the state and are handed out at speaking engagements.

Well, if that’s the case why are they spending your tax dollars to MAIL one to me? [BTW enphasis was added by me.]

Crooked, crooked politics!  No wonder WV can’t rise above 48th in any good category in this country!

I wish I had the resources to sue this crook.

GOP Convention Fallout – Part 1

Posted in County, State by muzeuterpe on February 11, 2008

Don’t know if there will be multiple parts to this, but thought I would plan for it!  😉

I hope the WV GOP seriously considers what they have done.  Check these letters out (Sent to me by my own Clark Kent) …

I haven’t seen letters to editors in my local papers discussing the ‘convention’ yet.

I’m toying with trying to find out if I can get information from my Voter’s Registration Office on the number of Republicans who have left the party.  I may wait till the end of the month, I haven’t decided.
