“If I weren’t president, I would be happy to catch the shuttle with my wife to take her to a Broadway show, as I had promised her during the campaign, and there would be no fuss and no muss and no photographers,” he said. “That would please me greatly.”

Waaaa! Waaaa! I wanted to be President but I didn’t know people would be mean to me.  Waaa! Waaa!

Come on people.  When you decide to stand for any political office, you know you are like velcro to media and criticism lint. The dumb-*ss stood in front of millions and boasted how ready he was for the job. His followers railled against those of us who questioned his experience (yet his followers cried fowl when you compared his to Palin’s). I thought he was gonna “hit the ground running” and not be held up with all the learning curve shit.

Please.

Who minded the vege garden while they traveled the world? He’s got all the time in the world to hold photo-shoots on the golf course and basketball court, where’s his time for our soldiers?

He  lifted the 18-year ban on media coverage of the return of fallen soldiers but only finds time to stop in to pay respects when he’s taking a beating over his delay on a decision to increast troops to Afganistan. The ‘patriots for peace’ screamed “Bush Lied Troops Died”.  Where are they now that the Big O is sitting with his thumb up his *ss now?

He’s all show and no substance. He’s a fraud.

Holy Cats!

This poor man.  Not only has he endured years of “cat calls” from masculinity threatened toms, now he is in the public eye for the second most embarrasing type of cancer a guy can have.  I will light a candle to Bastet in his name.

THE original Kiss drummer Peter Criss is finally opening up about his secret battle with breast cancer that began last year.

I used to dream of meeting this alley cat in the dark!

I was also awarded the E for Excellence Award, by The Holywriter.  This was so unexpected.  Holywriter had been on sort of a sabbatical for a while.  I was worried about him.  (It’s the nature of Pisces.)  He’s back now, and seems to be going strong.  He did make a mean comment though.  When he awarded me he said:

“I keep having terrible luck with women my age. Perhaps I should give up and throw myself at Muze’s feet?”

So, he’s throwing this old hag a bone.  LOL  Gods love him!

For this one you have to award it to 10 more people who’s blog’s you find Excellent Award worthy. You can give it to as many people as you want but please award at least 10.

Ok, the 10 I have selected are … well, very representative of the diversity in my reading.  I have two political blogs, a couple more liberal blogs, a couple conservative blogs, a news blog, some purely fun blogs .. a variety.  I consider them all “Excellent” in what they do.

Thanks Holywriter!

Shameless Self-Promotion

I feel so bad!  I’ve received two “awards” and I haven’t posted my thanks or completed the requirements.  I started a post a couple weeks ago.  I had to leave the computer for a few minutes and I lost it.  Echoes of “Save early!  Save Often!” rang through my head the rest of the day.  Since then, I’ve just been swamped with things and haven’t chiseled time.

First, JediJawa tagged me with the “A Roar for Powerful Words” award.  I did a little checking on this and found that, indeed, it aims to celebrate good and powerful writing in the blogosphere.  It comes from The Shameless Lions Writing Circle.  Awardees are expected to list three things they believe are necessary for good, powerful writing; and then pass the award on to the five blogs they want to honor.  Here are my recommendations:

  1.   Be Yourself – If you spend your time trying to imitate another writer eventually you stall.  Then, after you stall long enough, you stop.  Use other writers to spur your imagination.
  2. Be Honest – You can only make-up stuff for so long.  Well, ok, let me rephrase that.  Unless you are a fiction writer you can’t fake being what you aren’t for very long.
  3. Just Write – Every writer has a tough time getting started from time-to-time.  Almost every ‘serious’ writer will tell you to just start writing when you hit those times.  It’s true.  I often find myself struggling to get started with just the right words.  When I just move forward and come back later to fix the beginning I usually find that what I thought I wanted isn’t what I needed.

So, now to nominate five other bloggers …. See, I don’t read that many and a lot of them have already been nominated by those in my ‘blogging circle’.  Here goes:

Thanks for the nod Jedi!

Amnesty –> NO!! (update)

Posted in National, Notables by muzeuterpe on May 22, 2007

Ok, they can’t get it passed this week, so they’ll wait unitl June.  I don’t know about you,  but my mind won’t change on the position of amnesty for illegal immigrants.  Check this from Yahoo News (I read about it first at Don Surber’s):

“It would be to the best interests of the Senate … that we not try to finish this bill this week,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (news, bio, voting record), D-Nev., as the chamber began debate on the volatile issue. “I think we could, but I’m afraid the conclusion wouldn’t be anything that anyone wanted.”

So, who is the “anyone” Reid is discussing?  Is it the real US citizen?  I doubt it.  That same article says:

Under the proposal, that requirement only applies to heads of households seeking green cards and a path to citizenship. Others here unlawfully could obtain visas to live and work in the U.S. indefinitely without returning home.

Kennedy, called the plan “strong, realistic and fair.”

WHAT?!  FAIR?  What the heck is fair about shafting people who have completed the defined steps to become LEGAL citizens?  They get shuffled to the back faster than Jeff Gordon on the outside lane at Talladega.

It just really burns my biscotti to hear crap like that!  Why don’t they spend time working on how to bring educated people into the country who would be able to work at good paying jobs so they can pay high taxes like the rest of us?

Amnesty –> NO!

Posted in National, Notables by muzeuterpe on May 21, 2007

I love you Don Surber!  At least, I love the post you have titled Amnesty Bill Death Watch

I wish I had the time to chase all these things.  Thank g-d for people like Don, who not only have time, but get paid for a lot of it!

Any bill, and I mean ANY BILL that allows someone who entered this country illegally, or stayed here illegally, to make atonement or pay a fine is amnesty.  Either create a reservation to put them all on [since our prisons are so crowded] or run them out.  No one who skipped the process already in place should be given a break.  Those who are playing by the rules should be getting the breaks!

In his post Don says  “Americans do not want to reward Criminal Behavior.

Illegal immigration is a felony.

My God, how deaf, dumb and blind do you have to be not to detect that simple fact? We are a nation of laws. How I wish our lawmakers would keep that in mind.”

You can put lipstick on this pig, but it’s still a pig.

Byrd is agin it.  This time, I am, too.   I haven’t seen anything on the position of Rockefeller, Capito, Mollohan or Rahall.  Byrd usually sets the tone on big issues like this. Capito has been know to do her own thing, but I’m figuring this time she’ll do the right thing and stand against this bill.

If “my party” fails me on this one, I’ll be visiting Vera McCormick and registering as an Independent.
