I’m really not that technically inclined, although I can manage a lot of things. Don’t know what I was doing wrong, but I couldn’t embed the clip here. So, I linked it HERE.
Either way — This is a good clip showing the Big O’s dependency on the tele-prompter. MSNBC goes on about it, but they don’t note how Big O never really looks his audience in the eye. He can’t. He’s reading. He’s as fake as those male enhancement drug commercial guarentees.
Oh — you have to suffer through a 30 second commercial.

So the debate continues. Do we want
a) A President who delivers well-written speeches accurately and intelligibly by reading off of a teleprompter
or
b) A President who wings it and does to the English language what Jack the Ripper did to prostitutes
To each his own, I suppose.

I want a President who is conversationally literate on his subject without reading his answers. Have we done away with the ability to speak w/o more than brief note cards? Do you think much of a trainer who reads everything you see on the PowerPoint slide?
Are you saying that people who use perfect English and grammar are less intelligent or believable? I suspect there are more than a couple self-made millionaires who might take issue with you.

“Are you saying that people who use perfect English and grammar are less intelligent or believable?”
Not at all. I’m saying I’d rather have accuracy and intelligibility, even if it takes a teleprompter, than mumbling, stumbling buffoonery.
Given the fact that the press and bloggers around the world are ever poised to jump on the slightest hint of a verbal misstep (OMG HE MAID FUN OF RETARTED PEEPLE!!!11ONEONE) I’d stick to a teleprompter too if I were him.
I wouldn’t fault anyone in that position for doing so. The words of the POTUS are just a tad more important than trainer.
Fox News Alert: “Muze Euterpe said ‘Jews’ instead of ‘juice’ today in her powerpoint presentation to the rotary club. What does this mean to our relations with Isreal?!?!”

That gaff would more likely be attributed to Barny Frank than me.
(Just for the record, I support Isreal.)
But I don’t think your ‘argument’ holds water. The media (Fox, CNN, MSNBC, et al) will do that to anyone in the limelight. That “retarded” thing you touch on — I’ve been a Special Olympics coach and worked at the Rehabilitation Center in Institute. That was standard talk for him, it wasn’t just a gaff. It’s like using the “F” word. People who don’t use it won’t slip and say it. Just look how ‘your side’ takes aims at prominent Conservatives like Limbaugh at every turn.
The Big O is playing in the Big League, he should suck it up and play ball, not play house. (Rats. Those two words in the same sentence will probably earn me som nasty spam.

Doesn’t really mean too much to me. Whatever Mutt has to say is of no importance, it is what he does or fails to do that bears the greater worth. And so far he has not been at all impressive. Guess that is why the polls are catching up on him.
