I don’t have a lot of time today, but I wanted to post a little something on the “election” happening in Charleston, WV.
I attended the dinner in Charleston, hosted by the Kanawha County Republicans, last night. We had a full table of 8. No one at my table supported McCain. So, when I visit Lincoln Walks at Midnight, I’m not surprized to see him only receiving 16% on the first ballot, barely above kooky Ron Paul. Now, to be honest, I had only discussed my leanings with one person at the table prior to dinner last night.
Shelley Capito was the keynote speaker. She firmly announced that the majority of the WV Republicans do NOT support amnesty. She clearly stated that there are people who have been waiting a long time to become citizens and no one should be given preference.
Amen sista! The room took off on those comments.
Most of the people at my table supported Romney. I told them I could live with him, but have some real reservations about some of his decisions and programs.
To be honest, I announced to that table I am ready to change my registration. Neither of the parties, Dems or Repubs, have offered me a respectable, viable candidate. I’m disgusted.
I paid $50 for a buffet dinner [so-so food] and then $3.00 for a plastic party cup of Zinfendel. The speakers’ messages were on the money, but they weren’t very motivating to me. I guess that’s because I have no say.
You see, the WV Rep Party pulled a little switcher-roo on the party members. You had to register to vote ONLINE before November 31. That was the only way you could vote for your ‘delegates’ to the convention.
I’d love to know the number of Repubs in WV that have internet access at home and were TOLD about this change. I know my parents, sisters and brother-in-law didn’t know. There were at least 1,207 in the state that did.
Will I support whomever the Republican nominee is …. I just don’t know. This may be the first time in my voting life that I write in a candidate [Fred Thompson] for President, or leave it blank.

Our state party is a joke, sorry to say.
