Finally, A Little Good News

Whew!  Thank the gods for little favors.  I think there may be a little break in the dark clouds swirling!

I got a call yesterday evening to do some freelance work.  I start immediately.  It’s doesn’t pay much, just about enough to cover the fuel I’ll need to travel to and from for each assignment.  But, it will give me some much needed ‘credible’ work for a portfolio (or whatever it’s called) and some good experience in writing things I wouldn’t normally choose to write about.

I’m pretty excited about it. 

I really should be reading my horoscope more often.  I used to read it all the time.  I’d mark major events on a calendar and then compare it to what was going on, just to see how accurate it was.  Many times I’ve been surprized.  My favorite site is Susan Miller’s Astrology Zone.  I’ve been reading that one off and on since 1998!  She’s moved servers a thousand times.  Well, now, originally that was because she was being hosted by a magazine or something.  She’s had her own for a number of years now.

I won’t bore you with the entire horoscope, they are pretty lengthy, but here are just a few lines of mine for October …

When people first meet you they probably are impressed with your compassionate sensitivity to others and by your powerful imagination and creativity. What they don’t often see at first glance is the finely honed business sense, but they will - soon. You are gathering steam, dear Pisces, and by late November or early December you will have at least one earth-shatteringly positive professional announcement to make that will surely make others sit up and take notice.

In the meantime, money will be a main focus this month. You may be moving money around in your financial portfolio, doing some savvy year-end tax planning, or conducting heavy negotiations for venture capital. You may be working on a new contract or renewing one, but either way, you appear to be looking closely at the fine print and making a number of changes.

Your attention to financial matters will be strong and focused just after the new moon arrives, October 11, and continuing through October 21. That new moon will bring a lovely interaction between the new moon and planet of vision, Neptune, and powerhouse Pluto. Neptune holds extra weight here, because Neptune is your guardian planet whose job it is to take very good care of you.

Most Pisces are creative so if that describes you and your creative field, your designs or artistic creations will be extremely well received. That praise should translate into money immediately, so be optimistic and confident about presenting your ideas to powerful people.

Ok, I know, these things are usually so general that they can fit anyone.  But it is fun to track!

Yesterday, before I got the freelance call, I found a couple other agencies to submit E&O apps to.  One has already responded with a polite rejection, but did give me three company names to try.  So, I will be working on that today or tomorrow.

I have to go to the big library downtown this afternoon.  I have to get a couple books for my research project for class.  I also have to prepare for the statewide meeting I have to hold on Saturday.  That will be in Gassaway.  It’s a very important meeting, but it’s a very sad issue.  Lack of commitment by the membership has caused us to decline for the past several years.  Our International Headquarters is politely pushing us to dissolve the state level and merge with another group from one of our neighboring states.  I guess, if this were the corporate world I’d be called a hatchet-man.

So, I have a lot on my plate for the forseeable future, even if I’m not making enough to cover my fuel expenses!

And then there are a few local stories I’ve been dying to blog about, but I’ve been focusing on other things.  I’ll try to get something together on those soon.
