Halloween Interview

Holy cow, I almost forgot about my interview with Mr. Chinchilla!  I just love the little snuggle-bunny!  He’s so wise and talented.  I wish I could be a chinchilla so we could go out for some raisins withouth people talking.
Take a peek and you may learn a thing or two.

Lincoln County WV

AH!  For a little levity we have the following:
There is a battle of the newspapers in Lincoln County between the Lincoln Journal and the Lincoln Standard.  Having extended family in Lincoln County I try to check in and see how things are going from time to time.  It’s a study in Southern WV Politics!
Take a [...]

Wild Wonderful West Virginia … about d*mn time.

Many years ago, the unofficial offical slogan of West Virginia was “Wild, Wonderful West Virginia.”  Then, along came Governor Joe Manchin and he decided he knew best.  You know, the people never really know what’s best for them, the politicians need to tell them.
So, Good Ol’ Joe decided to change the highway welcome signs to [...]

NAACP Won’t March with Black Lawyers for Justice

Rarely do I ever agree with the NAACP.  This time I do.
Back on September 10, I blogged about the abduction and torture of Ms. Megan Williams, a young black woman from Charleston.  This is an absolutely abhorrent story.  The people who participated in the atrocities committed against Ms. Williams deserve to be punished to the [...]

Welcome To The World, Princess!

Oh I’m so excited!  My brand new grand-niece arrived yesterday morning at 9:40!  She’s a whopping 6lb 4oz and 19″ long.
The doctor prodded her into the world a couple weeks early.  Her mom was having some issues with blood pressure and ’stuff’ and it was felt to be the best thing.  They originally set [...]

Finally, A Little Good News

Whew!  Thank the gods for little favors.  I think there may be a little break in the dark clouds swirling!
I got a call yesterday evening to do some freelance work.  I start immediately.  It’s doesn’t pay much, just about enough to cover the fuel I’ll need to travel to and from for each assignment.  But, [...]

Pity Party

I really hate feeling like this.  It doesn’t happen that often.  But when it does, good grief.  So I’m going to take this time to indulge in a little Jack Daniels Black, Diet Rite and self-pity.  Now, this is the point where you need to decide if you are going to continue reading, or move [...]

Stress and Flair, Stress and Flair

Really I don’t have time for this post.  I have to leave in about 20 minutes and I don’t have my stuff together.  But what’s the point of a “Web log” if you don’t do quickies.
Anyway, I haven’t posted much recently.  I’ve just had so much going on around me that I am having trouble [...]

No Parking - Loading Zone

Some days all seems right with the world!
A couple times a week I drop someone off at work downtown.  On those days I like to swing into Capitol Roasters for a treat. This morning, more than my tastebuds got something worth smiling over.
I pulled into a parking spot along Summers Street at a meter.  You [...]
