Cleaning - I hate it!
Did you ever have so much CRAP that you didn’t know where to put it all? That’s what I’m fighting tonight.
I am such a pack-rat. Those who have been keeping up know I left my job at the end of July. The 12 years with the same employer wasn’t the problem, it was the 7 years in the same office that has messed me up! I had so much personal junk built up. Oh lord, then I had to bring it home where I have almost the same junk. I have two sets of some photos in identical frames now! I think I’ll give some of them to my mom! Mom’s always need more photos! <laugh>
But I’m also trying to put stuff away and throw MORE stuff out. I’ve performed this ritual probably 4 times since August 1. Each time I find more stuff I should pitch and each time I decide to pitch a little more of the things I thought I needed to keep.
But, the pressure is building for me. While I would rather write with no pressure, the routine drudgery requires a push. I do my best cleaning up and sorting when there is a deadline.
Since passing my exam on Saturday, I have completed the application for the insurance license. That won’t be here for a couple more days. I stopped in on my soon-to-be partner to touch base again with him. He’s still on board and thrilled that I passed the exam. He may be more thrilled that he didn’t have to pay for it, like he has two previous potential partners.
So, now I have to swing by the Secretary of State’s Web page and get the business documents in the works. That will be costly and I probably won’t do that until tomorrow. I also have to contact some insurance companies to find out how to apply as an agent/producer. My partner gave me the name and number of the guy he contacts all the time. I’ll call him tomorrow.
Also tomorrow, I am scheduled to have lunch with a girlfriend who allowed me to borrow her course book until mine came in.
You know, I never noticed how many unused business envelopes I have since I’ve been paying more bills online. Hmmm …. Sounds like a cost-savings measure, use the other guy’s envelopes! J
Ok. I’m tired of this now. I want to do something else. LOL Well, I HAVE been at this all afternoon. I only stopped to cook dinner and eat.
I thought I was doing a great thing when I bought this small home shredder. With all the junk I have that has account numbers, credit card “spend me” checks and miscellaneous crap I think I really need an industrial sized one!

You should think about moving out to the country, Muze. No shredder needed. Just a big ol’ bonfire in the backyard.
Do you get bombarded with about five pounds a day with junk mail? That’s what drives me crazy. I usually ride my four-wheeler down to get the mail and I’ll end up losing half of it on the way back to the house- having to stop and pick up letters that say, “You’ve been pre-approved for a new credit card” on the back in small print- “28% APR.”
