Test Day Ver 1.0

Well, today is the day.  I make my first attempt at the license exam.

I’ve been studying hard and taking practice text after practice test.  Overall I’m getting in the 80% range.  Sounds good on the surface, but you have to pass each section with a 70%, and I haven’t done that consistently.  Some I’m getting 100% in some and others 60%, you can’t pass with that.

But, I’ll know by lunch.  Test starts at 9:00 a.m.

I figure that, if I don’t pass I will come out knowing exactly how the test is administered, how it differs with the practice tests and what to expect when I test again in a few days.

I can’t take too long, my cash stash will run out by mid September.  I’ll have to go back to waiting tables for vehicle payment money.  While I don’t mind it, my back thinks differently.  That’s all I’d need is to get my back stirred up again.  It’s taken several thousand dollars and many years to get it calmed down.

I just have to remember to READ carefully, take my time and always work the math questions.  On the practice exams I found I would skip words as I read and that would make all the difference in the answer.  Also, if I didn’t get the math worked out fully I’d choke.

If I don’t pass then, I don’t pass.  I’ll keep working on it until I do.  I just need to put some confidence building music on the CD player.  Hmmmm maybe Flirtin’ with Disaster ….

 Update …

I passed!  Good lord I passed!

It was a difficult exam, but I took my time, read things two and three times, looked at all the options and chose the best one.  They don’t give you a score, it’s just Pass/Fail.

HA!  Monday will find me getting all the information together to apply for the license and starting the business.  But for the rest of today and tomorrow — relaxing time baby!
