Amnesty –> NO!! (update)

Ok, they can’t get it passed this week, so they’ll wait unitl June.  I don’t know about you,  but my mind won’t change on the position of amnesty for illegal immigrants.  Check this from Yahoo News (I read about it first at Don Surber’s):

“It would be to the best interests of the Senate … that we not try to finish this bill this week,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (news, bio, voting record), D-Nev., as the chamber began debate on the volatile issue. “I think we could, but I’m afraid the conclusion wouldn’t be anything that anyone wanted.”

So, who is the “anyone” Reid is discussing?  Is it the real US citizen?  I doubt it.  That same article says:

Under the proposal, that requirement only applies to heads of households seeking green cards and a path to citizenship. Others here unlawfully could obtain visas to live and work in the U.S. indefinitely without returning home.

Kennedy, called the plan “strong, realistic and fair.”

WHAT?!  FAIR?  What the heck is fair about shafting people who have completed the defined steps to become LEGAL citizens?  They get shuffled to the back faster than Jeff Gordon on the outside lane at Talladega.

It just really burns my biscotti to hear crap like that!  Why don’t they spend time working on how to bring educated people into the country who would be able to work at good paying jobs so they can pay high taxes like the rest of us?
